| How to Create a Plan without billing |
|
1) before you start, and to prevent fraud, please log into your reseller control panel, select settings > signup guard > moderate everything > submit. This is done so that fraudulent users cannot signup for your plans and get activated without you moderating the signup (to moderate a signup goto signup > moderate) 2) still in your reseller control panel, select info > plan creation wizard and create the type of plan you are after (Unix or Windows) - to create specific Linux, FreeBSD, Windows or Coldfusion plans, please see the other plan creation guides. By default, if you create a Unix plan, a Linux plan will be created and if you create a Windows plan, a Windows plan will be created. FreeBSD, Coldfusion, Exchange and Dedicated Server plans require configs outside of this section. Once you have selected Unix or Windows plan creation, goto step 3 3) Name your plan whatever you feel is appropriate and check the options you wish to make available (please note: a)summary disk usage is an average calculation made for the total disk usage within an account by a user. It is recommended you use this option and set this equal to whatever total disk space allocation you assign to the plan b) domain registration pricing needs to be set under settings > registrar. c) Service domain IS ONLY used by yourself to host the site which also acts as your nameserver - this should not be activated in any customer plan
4) Under web services, include resources you wish to make available for your end users and check the activate boxes for those resources you wish to be live upon account creation (ie the end user will not be required to further activate in the plan). It is recommended that you leave phpbb and osCommerce turned off, as these have become redundant within hsphere. If you wish to allow your users to utilize a script installer, include the "EasyApps" resource.
5) for statistics, it is recommended that you include the various options you wish to have available to your users, however, please do not activate these resources. Stats and logs will begin collecting logs which will utilize disk space unnecessarily. Allow end users to activate which logs/stats they require when required. Additionally, please make note that Urchin is a commercial product and you will be charged for usage beyound the number of licenses you are allocated. it is advised you do not include this in plans without billing, as you will have no way to charge your customers for this resource, however, you will be charged by Cartika for its usage. Re email settings, include all options and it is strongly advised that anti-virus, anti-spam and spf records are included and activated by default.
6) for SSL options, please include SSL Module (which allows your users the capability to install SSL certificates from any provider of their choice). If you wish to also resell SSL certificates and allow users to purchase your certificates from their control panel, you will need to configure your ssl resale resources under settings > SSL). Otherwise, leave this area unchecked for now. Re the "other" section, please include all of the resources you require (ie FTP, mysql, sitestudio site builder, pgsql, etc) - however, please NO NOT include any of the RLmits unless you are explicitly aware of the ramifications. RLmits typically are not required in our environment as we are undersold and resources do not max out.
7) under settings, please select without billing and shared IP (it is VERY important that shared IP is selected, even in accounts where you would like to allow dedicated IP's). By selecting shared IP, the end user will still have the option of adding a dedicated IP to a domain. However, if you were to select dedicated IP by default, then every domain and subdomain created within that account would be allocated a dedicated IP. Once you are completed, press next
8) Fill in the boxes presented to you with the quotas you would like to assign to each area (noticing that summary disk usage is set to the same as the disk space allocation and press save (the numbers utilized in this example are perfect for the average user and should easily accomodate 90% of users)
